Bhopal: A 20-year-old girl was gang-raped by four persons here at railway station’s washing yard as her minor niece was held hostage by the four men. The incident was reported to police late on Thursday night. Husband of the victim is accused murdering brother of Rajesh, the prime accused in the gang-rape case.
According to police, the woman had come to Bhopal from nearby Sehore with her minor niece to watch a religious procession on Wednesday night. As the woman was passing by the washing yard at Bhopal railway station, she was intercepted by Rajesh and his three associates.
The four men held the minor girl hostage and threatened to eliminate her. The accused also took turns to gang-raped the girl. After the incident the women approached Hanumanganj police station where SHO Mahendra Singh Thakur accompanied her to GRP police station where the gang-rape case was lodged against the men named by the girl.
SHO at GRP police station DK Joshi said the woman had come to Bhopal for watching a religious procession and as she approached Bhopal railway stations washing yard to attend nature’s call, Rajesh, Rakesh, Dharmendra and Vikram spotted her.
All the four men collect garbage from around the railway station. The four after sexually assaulting the girl, fled the spot. The police have booked all the four on charges of gang-rape and others on the complaint of the victim. During the investigation, police officer DK Joshi said the woman later told the police that in February this year her husband was involved the murder of one Rakesh Bohad, the complaint of his brother Rajesh, her husband and others were booked by the police for murder.
