Maya SinghBhopal: Women and Child Development Minister Maya Singh has said that it is necessary for development of a society that their women are not only socially, economically and politically empowered but also participate in decision-making process at every level. Singh was addressing a pre-ideological Kumbh seminar at Bhopal today. Girl students of colleges, female sarpanchs, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development JN Kansotiya, Commissioner Women’s Empowerment Jaishree Kiyawat and vice chancellor of Gramoday Chitrkoot University were also present on the occasion.
Singh said that one of the 5 discussion subjects is Shakti Kumbh for the ideological Kumbh to be held during Simhastha at Ninaura. Through the Kumbh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release a declaration to empower women in the state, country and world. Before the ideological Kumbh, it was necessary to elicit views of women and girls in brainstorming.
This seminar is being held for this purpose. She said that it is an opportune occasion for womenfolk to shape their future. The novel and inspirational efforts of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan towards women’s empowerment are being lauded and emulated in entire country and world. It is now our responsibility to come forwards to empower women. She stressed the need to pay attention to Indian traditions and ethos in our rights and development.
She desired participating girls and women’s representatives to express their opinions and suggestions to make Shakti Kumbh Declaration meaningful and path-breaking.
