Bhopal: In a high-level meeting held at the Mantralaya on Saturday, Home Minister Bala Bachchan and Law- Legal Affairs Minister PC Sharma held a discussion on withdrawal of criminal cases, especially cases related to protests, demonstrations, movements etc in public interest. During the meeting, instructions were given to hold a meeting of the committee at district level for a discussion on withdrawal of cases in public interest and send the recommendations without delay to the government for consideration. In this regard, the minister’s duo will review again on June 4 at 11 am.

Principal Secretary Home SN Mishra, Principal Secretary Law-Legislative Affairs Satyendra Singh, Director Public Prosecution Rajendra Kumar, Secretary Home Shahid Absar, ADG CID Rajiv Tandon, ADG (Intelligence) Kailash Makwana and Deputy Secretary Anju Bhadauria were present in the meeting.

It may be noted that the state government has appointed District Magistrate as the Chairman of the District Level Committee, District Superintendent of Police as Member and District Public Prosecution Officer as Member Secretary of the Committee. The state-level committee includes Principal Secretary Home, Principal Secretary Law-Legislative Affairs, Director General of Police, Advocate General or representative nominated by him and Director Public Prosecution.

A review meeting of law and order situation will be held at the Mantralaya on June 3 at 12 pm. Decision will be taken regarding strengthening law and order situation and control crimes against women. Principal Secretary Home SN Mishra and DGP Vijay Kumar Singh will be present in the meeting.
