Mandsaur: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Friday attacked former Chief Minister Kamal Nath saying the latter keep asking what was his fault (on losing power) but we have a lengthy list on this.
Nath in his public meetings keep raising a question that what was his fault that his government was brought down prematurely, claiming that he was just trying to crack down on unlawful elements and attain public welfare. Chouhan while addressing a poll rally in Mandsaur responded to these rants saying how many mistakes we should list.
“We used to offer scholarships to poor students, you (Nath) discontinued this. We used to offer Rs 16,000 for nutrition to pregnant women, you also stopped it. You even stopped payments under Kanyadan yojana and also under Sambal scheme which covered post death compensation for the poor,” said Chouhan adding Nath robed students of laptops (under merit scheme), stopped teerth darshan scheme and so on and now he is asking what was his fault.
Chouhan claimed that Jyotiraidtya Scindia and his aides saved the state otherwise none knows what would have happened to the state, the if this government (of Kamal Nath) ran for complete five years. Bringing down such government is no sin, claimed the Chief Minister.
Chouhan went on to claim that his government offered to farmers much more than the farm loan waiver including payments on crop insurance, provision of 0% interest, Rs 4,000 per annum state’s contribution for Kisan Samman Nidhi and so on.
Turning to Congress party announcement of farm loan waiver in year 2018, Chouhan said Rahul Gandhi had promised farm loan waiver within ten days in coming to power but later the Congress government claimed that only short term loans will be waived off, then they said current account loans won’t be included in the scheme and also said loans only upto March 2018 will be written off and so on.
Then also the Congress government had burdened co-operative societies with half the burden of waived off loans worth Rs 6,000 cr, said Chouhan adding this kind of jugglery is only possible for Congress party and not for Mama (himself).
