Bhopal: The Urban Development and Housing Department will get the Urban Development Institute constructed in Bhounri for training of its officers and employees. The Minister for Urban Development and Housing Jaivardhan Singh reviewed the construction works of the institute. Singh said that the institute should be constructed keeping in view the needs of the next 70 to 80 years.

Singh mentioned that the institute should be developed in the form of Green Building Campus. A provision for rain water harvesting must be made. By identifying the place and species of plants, plantation should be done from now itself. Moreover, arrangement for gymnasium and indoor games should also be made besides badminton and tennis court. Similarly, physical digital-library should be constructed and arrangement of cafeteria should also be made for outsiders, he added.

It was informed in the meeting that the institute will be constructed on 25 acre land. Separate hostels and staff quarters will be constructed for men and women. In connection to the institute, valuable suggestions were given by the Director General of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis R Parshuram, Chairman of RERA Antony DeSa and Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Sanjay Dubey. Architect Sanjay Mehta gave information about the design of the building through presentation.
