Bhopal: The two-day tourism summit of BRICS countries was inaugurated in Khajuraho by Union Ministry of Tourism. Delegates from BRICS countries including India were present on the occasion. Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (Independent Charge), Surendra Patwa said it is matter of pride that the two-day summit on BRICS countries had been organised in Khajuraho. He said that such events would continue to be held in Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with the Government of India.

He said that all efforts will be made for promotion of tourism. He said such events yield good experiences for promotion of tourism. He said tourism will increase with mutual cooperation of BRICS countries. Secretary of Union Ministry of Tourism Vinod Zutshi said that the summit aims at increasing tourism by mutual cooperation of BRICS countries and use new technology. Delegates of South Africa and china tourism department also addressed the summit.

Presentation was made on Incredible India theme in the second session of the summit. BRICS countries, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, India Association of Tour Operators made presentations on tourism promotion. DA Hainicom from South Africa, tourism counsellor from China Wen Lian Guha, director Liu Keji, representative of tourism ministry Suman Billa, chairman of Mp Tourism Development Corporation Tapan Bhaumik and secretary of tourism department Hari Ranjan Rao were present.
