Bhopal: The statewide Gramoday Abhiyan for the socio-economic change of villages will begin from April 14 to May 31. A one-day Mahila Gram Sabha will also be organized during the Abhiyan in which subjects related to women and children will be discussed. Gram Sabhas focusing on agriculture and different beneficiary-based schemes will also be organized separately. Reviewing the preparations of the campaign Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the campaign should have an objective. During the campaign, the focus should be on doubling of agricultural income. Chief Secretary BP Singh was also present at the meeting.

Chouhan said that the farmers should be made aware of the roadmap for doubling the agricultural income during the campaign. The Krishi Rath should go to all the gram panchayats. Micro planning of implementation of the campaign is necessary. The farmers should be told about the works that can be undertaken in the agriculture and horticulture sector. He instructed that peoples representatives should be included in the programmes. All ministers in charge should take part in the gram sabha at least thrice.

It was informed at the meeting that the campaign will start on April 14. Krishi Rath will go to the gram panchayats from April 15. Kisan Sabhas will be held in 313 development blocks and krishi melas will be held in 51 districts during the campaign. Schemes related to drinking water will also be included in the campaign. Benefits will be distributed to all beneficiaries in gram panchayats in the entire state from May 22 to 31 during the campaign.

Additional Chief Secretary RS Julania, Commissioner Agricultural Production PC Meena, Principal Secretaries to the Chief Minister Ashok Vernawal and SK Mishra, Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajoura and Principal Secretary Public Health Engineering Manoj Govil were also present.
