Bhopal: The state government has constituted a state level organizing committee to conduct Namami Devi Narmade Narmada Seva Yatra- 2016. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the Chairman of the committee whereas Minister for Forest, Planning, Economics and Statistics Gourishankar Shejwar has been made Vice-Chairman of the committee. Minister of State for Narmada Valley Development Lal Singh Arya, Chairman of State Mineral Development Corporation Shiv Choubey, Vice-Chairman of Jan Abhiyan Parishad Pradeep Pandey and Raghvendra Gautam, Ministers incharge of 16 districts situated at the banks of Narmada, MP, MLA, Commissioners of Shahdol, Jabalpur, Narmadpuram, Bhopal, Indore and Ujjain, district Panchayat Chairmen of 16 districts situated at the banks of Narmada, 18 Dharmguru/Sant/Subject Experts/Social Activists have been nominated as members of the organising committee by the Chief Minister. Additional Chief Secretary Planning, Economic and Statistics has been nominated as member secretary and Executive Director Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad have been nominated as member assistant secretary of the committee.

The committee will frame policy related to the proposed Namami Devi Narmade Narmada Seva Yatra-2016 and will give guidance to attain objectives of the Yatra beside generating awareness for public participation, directions to various department for cooperation, coordination with neighbouring states and to make outline for district level committees and sub-yatras.
