Bhopal: Problems related to meter reading will be the matter of past in Gwalior city now. Spot billing arrangements will be made by the Madhya Kshetra Vidhyut Vitran Company within six months in Gwalior city. This arrangements are being made in CSS zone of the city, Dabra, Ganeshpura distribution center Morena, Bhind, Sheopur, Guna and west and east zone of Shivpuri to facilitate consumers to get bills on the basis of consumption reflected by the meters. Efforts are being made to eliminate average billing in these areas. This decision was taken in a meeting of the Additional Chief Secretary Energy Iqbal Singh Bains with the Officers of the Gwalior-Chambal Division. Managing Director MP Power Management Company Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Managing Director Madhya Kshetra Vidhyut Vitran Company Vivek Porwal and other Officers were present in the meeting.

Iqbal Singh Bains said that evaluated consumption based arrangements will be eliminated in a phased manner in other cities also. Complaints of consumer who pay bills towards interrupted power supply should be resolved on top priority. Bains said that contact with consumers should be increased and apprise them if they do not pay bills on time, they will face problems in getting services immediately.

The Additional Chief Secretary further mentioned that motivational scheme being implemented for collection more than the target through door to door collection expansion. He laid emphasis to implement arrangements like DTR franchise to undertake works like bill distribution, revenue collection, meter replacement etc. through local contractors. He said that scheme should be framed keeping in account the different areas, places, villages and situation in cities to generate more revenue.

Bains reviewed Deendayal GramJyoti Yojana, IPDS Scheme, transformers management for Rabi season, feeder separation etc. He said that keeping in view the March 31, 2017, annual target should be set in such a manner that effective review should be made about target and achievements in the next meeting. He further mentioned that there is always possibility of improvement despite difficult situations. Keeping in mind small needs, works should be carried out to ensure good quality service to the consumers in the stipulated time. Bains laid emphasis to conduct a campaign to provide new connections.
