Bhopal: Health and Family Welfare Minister Narottam Mishra chaired a meeting of State Supervisory Board constituted under PC&PNDT Act at Mantralaya here on Monday. Mishra felicitated Mahesh Chandak of Chhindwara district for sting operation to highlight cases of female foeticide. Lauding role of Chandak, Mishra gave him letter of citation and a cheque of Rs 50,000 as first installment of incentive. The teams informed about inspections made by them. After inspecting ultrasonography centres and documents, these teams give report to state’s competent authority. The meeting was informed about sealing of sonography centres under the Act in the state last year. Registration of one centre was cancelled and show cause notices were issued to 21 centres.
Now, districts are getting benefit of MP Online’s PC&PNDT Portal for effective implementation of the Act. The meeting was informed that MIS is being implemented for e-reporting of registrations and records under the Act from January 1, 2016 in the state. For this, MP Online has also trained staff in districts. It is mandatory for ultrasonography centres and genetic consultation centres to be registered under the Act.
It is necessary for these centres to submit daily reports to district collector and district community authority in prescribed format. Earlier, this work was done manually. Directorate of Health has provided user IDs and passwords of website to all Chief Medical and Health Officers. MP Online is ensuring registration of centres under the Act on the portal.
Health Department is conducting three-tier incentive reward scheme under Hamari Bitiya Abhiyan for giving tip-off about gender test based abortions. Earlier, there was a provision to reward only the informer. Reward for sting operation is given in 2 installments. Under the scheme, concerning pregnant woman and collaborator are also given rewards. After confirmation by competent authority, Rs 50,000 and Rs 10,000 each is given to informer, pregnant woman and collaborator out of Rs one lakh as first installment. The same amount is given as second installment. In the case of sting operation by the informer alone, Rs 50,000 is given as first installment and the same amount is given as second installment when crime is proved in court.
