Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that solution of power employees’ problem is possible only if problems of power consumers are solved. Power employees should supply constant and quality services to the consumers. Government will safeguard their interest. Nath was holding discussions with a delegation of Madhya Pradesh United Forum for Power Employees and Engineers Association at Mantralaya on Tuesday.

Nath mentioned that uninterrupted electricity should be supplied to the power consumers of rural areas upto their satisfaction and improvement in bad image of the Electricity department. For this, employees of all the power distribution companies should work with dedication. The Chief Minister further stated all the power employees need self introspection today. Besides protecting interest of the power consumers, the government will take every such decision to eliminate problems of power employees, which will strengthen power distribution arrangements in the state.

The Chief Minister asserted that the government has become victim of citizens’ criticism the most owing to the improper power distribution arrangement and unannounced power cut. He said that it is needed that the electricity department should bring immense improvement in its working to improve its image. Our biggest concern is to strengthen power arrangement in the state in permanent form. For this, we have to contemplate on long term solutions. Consumers’ satisfaction is the topmost priority of the government and no compromise will be made in this, he added.

Nath said that we have to bring parity between demand and supply. We have to take concrete steps to reduce the transmission and distribution loss too. Power theft should be stopped strictly. He further stated that only high quality power equipments should be purchased. We will have to make monitoring based arrangement in this regard.
