Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan presided over the cabinet meeting held here today. The cabinet has decided to increase the sum of social security pension scheme and to bring uniformity in all the schemes. Beneficiaries will now get Rs 300 per month in place of Rs 150. In an Important decision taken by the state government related to security pension schemes, Rs 300 will be paid in place of Rs. 150 to beneficiaries above 60 years of age, widows between 18 to 39 years of age and separated women (living below poverty line) between age of 18 and 59 years.

Similarly, Rs 300 per month in place of Rs. 150 has been approved for disabled persons living below poverty line (having more than 40 percent disability) between 18 and 59 years of age. Moreover, decision has been taken to give Rs 300 per month in place of Rs 150 to the disabled children living below poverty line (having more than 40 per cent disability) between 6 to 18 years of age as disabled education encouragement amount. The revised rate of pension/disabled education encouragement amount will be implemented for September 2016 and the amount will be received by the beneficiaries in the month of October 2016. An additional financial burden of 222.56 crore will come to the state government due to the increase.

Moreover, cabinet has given its approval for changes made by the central government in cost ratio of Indira Gandhi Motherhood assistance scheme as 60 percent central government dividend and 40 per cent state government dividend as per the guidelines of the central government. Cabinet has also decided to increase the board members of Madhya Pradesh Mati Kala Board from 7 to10.
