Bhopal: Over 6 lakh farmers have been given assistance of Rs 88.44 crore under the Mukhmantri Farmers Cooperative Loan Assistance Scheme. This scheme was launched by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the year 2015. Minister of State for cooperative (independent charge) Vishwas Sarang has informed that farmers have been linked to this scheme from rabi season 2015-16. Sarang further informed that the main objective of this scheme is to help farmers in reducing the agricultural cost, beside increase in the income of farmers and to make agriculture a profitable occupation.

He further informed that the farmers who obtain short term loans from the primary agriculture credit cooperative societies and repay 90 percent of the loan amount till the fixed date will be provided benefit of this scheme.

Sarang said that the defaulter member farmers of the society are facilitated to avail the benefit of this scheme by repaying loans availed by them in the past. Moreover, he informed that whichever farmer obtains short term loan for material or in the form of cash and procure fertilizer seeds from marketing federation, seeds cooperative federation or seeds cooperative societies are accepted as material loan in the scheme. Under the scheme, assistance subsidy limit will be maximum Rs. 10,000 or in accordance to ten percent of the material loan.

So far 6.12 lakh farmers of 38 districts were benefitted under this scheme till date. They have received Rs 88.44 crore as subsidy. Farmers have been benefitted under the scheme includes 7651 in Jabalpur, 4334 in Mandla, 13490 in Balaghat, 16132 in Chhindwara, 13621 in Seoni, 8908 in Narsinghpur, 15526 in Sagar, 13337 in Damoh, 4739 in Panna, 9239 in Chhatarpur, 4218 in Tikamgarh, 14474 in Rewa, 15150 in Satna, 5160 in Sidhi, 8873 in Shahdol, 27798 in Indore, 18307 in Dhar, 1803 in Jhabua, 29426 in Khargone, 12258 in Khandwa, 33128 in Ujjain, 25617 in Ratlam, 25759 in Mandsaur, 37195 in Dewas, 32251 in Shajapur, 4325 in Gwalior, 6105 in Shivpuri, 10018 in Guna, 27 in Datia, 11278 in Bhind, 16696 in Morena, 9649 in Bhopal, 34363 in Sehore, 8322 in Raisen, 33023 in Vidisha, 30784 in Rajgarh, 21125 in Betul and 27821 in Hoshangabad.
