Bhopal: Commerce and Industries Minister Rajendra Shukla has called for proper showcasing of the remarkable achievements in infrastructure sector and improvements in all other sectors in Madhya Pradesh during last one decade. He stressed the need to market the state and take its advantage in Indore Global Investors Summit-2016 to be held in October this year. This work should be taken as a challenge. He also laid emphasis on better coordination with all government departments associated with the summit. Minister Shukla was reviewing preparations for the Global Investors Summit at Bhopal today. Principal Secretary Industries Mohammad Suleman was also present.

Shukla said that dreams of industrial revolution should be realised. Special attention should be paid to ensure participation of every sector of the country and world in the summit. It should be made result-oriented. He said that the state has adequate land for setting up industries. It is need of the hour to motivate industrialists of country and abroad to set up their units in Madhya Pradesh. He said that the state has made major achievements in solar energy sector. World’s biggest solar plant is being set up in the state. Prestigious company Hindalco has also evinced interest for making large-scale investment in the state. Shukla said that there would be no shortage of funds for industrial development in the state.

The meeting was informed that Global Investors Summit will be held at Indore on October 22 and 23, 2016. About 500 foreign, 1000 state and 1500 representatives from all over the country will participate in it. Information was given at the meeting about road shows held so far in the country and abroad for attracting investors towards the state. Sessions on agri business & food processing, automobile and engineering, defence, IT, new and renewable energy, textiles, tourism, urban development and pharmaceuticals will be held during the summit. Experts will air views on state’s industrial policy in these sessions. Exhibition focusing on industrial achievements and possibilities will also be put up during the Summit.

Information was given by seven units of Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam about ongoing works. AKVN will develop 300 hectare area during year 2016-17 at a cost of Rs 360 crore. The meeting was informed that 7 AKVN units at Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Sagar and Ujjain have 3129 plots available on 862 hectares for setting up industries. TRIFAC’s MD DP Ahuja and officers of Industries Department attended the meeting.
