Bhopal: In the high-profile homeytrap racket, the police on Saturday line attached a police inspector, SHO of Indore for taking immediate and prompt action in the case. Sources said that after the names of bureaucrats, ministers, legislators and journalists have come up for involvement in the racket, the police administration is taking the incident seriously and not in the haste to take any further action.
The police said that SHO of Palasiya police station Ajeet Singh Bai has been line attached and Shahikant Chaurasiya has been shouldered responsibility of the police station. Sources said that the police officials were already in the know about the racket. Soon after the obscene video of Additioanl CS PC Meena had surfaced, it was confirmed. However, police were waiting for a complaint to take any action.
After the police came to know about the extortion of Indore Municipal Corporation executive engineer Harbhajan Singh, they immediately flung into action and busted the racket. Sources claimed that Harbhajan was not willing to lodge an FIR; he simply wanted to submit a complaint letter and demanded an action against the woman.
The alleged ringleader, 48-year-old Shweta Jain, was arrested from BJP MLA Brijendra Pratap Singh’s house in Rivera Town late on Wednesday night. Police said that she ran an NGO, under whose garb the racket was carried out. Other accused in the case 34-year-old Barkha Soni, is the wife of former state Congress IT cell vice-president, Amit Soni.
Sources claimed that the investigation conducted so far also indicated that there was a conspiracy to topple the State government. However, the involvement of three ministers of Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia camp, the government has a sigh of relief.
