Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the economic activities of the women self help groups (SHGs) is transforming into a revolution in the state. One Nodal Officer in each district of the state will be made available to strengthen the women SHGs, to provide help for conducting their economic activities and technical guidance. These Nodal Officers will help the women self-help groups in their progress with coordination of the concerned departments, district administration, banks and concerned organizations.

Chouhan was addressing the members of women SHGs through Dil Se programme broadcasted and telecasted from Akashwani and Doordarshan on Sunday. He deliberated in detail about the formation, management, products, marketing, organizational power of the self-help groups beside new responsibilities and issues related to women safety.

Chouhan mentioned that womens safety is the top priority of the state government. The proposal has been sent for the approval of the President by enacting a law to give capital punishment to the culprits involved in heinous crime against the innocent girls. He also deliberated in detail about the unique steps taken for the womens safety and its remedies on the occasion.

He extended greetings of Makar Sankranti. He informed that Anand Utsav is being organized in rural and urban areas from January 14 to 21 to transfuse joy in the peoples life by enhancing the sentiments of participation, brotherhood and mutual cooperation.

Chouhan stated that the state government is providing several facilities to the women self-help groups. A new training policy will be framed by reviewing it. If the women SHG produced good quality products then purchase of these products will be considered. He mentioned that the federation of women selfhelp groups is being entrusted with the responsibility to make take home ration. A high level training will be imparted to them to enable them to prepare nutritious food scientifically.

The bank guarantee against the loan of Rs 5 crore to be provided to the federation of women SHGs will be given by the government.
