Bhopal: In order to provide security to tourists visiting Madhya Pradesh, tourist police chowkis have been established in the tourist places of the state. Necessary training is being provided to the police personnel through Tourism Awareness programme. Under this, tourism police personnel of police range Chhatarpur have been given training related to their role in the tourist village Khajuraho. Under the training programme police personnel were imparted training on subject like their role, security of domestic and foreign tourists, interest, behavior, body language, police image and how to redress the grievances. 52 tourist police personnel took part in the training programme organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism through IITTM Gwalior. There is a scheme to conduct such training progammes in other divisions too.
It may be mentioned that 11 tourist police chowkis are already functioning including famous tourist places like Pachmarhi, Khajuraho, Kanha, Orchha, Chitrakoot, Mandu, Amarkantak and Maheshwar for tourists security.
