Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the Sarpanch-Sachivs will be responsible for the funds to be released into panchayat accounts for work and plan. But they will not be responsible for the misuse of the funds that go into the beneficiarys account. Taking into account the expenses of panchayats on protocol, the Chief Minister has announced an annual protocol allowance of Rs 6,000. After discussion with the Chief Minister, the Sarpanch, Sachivs and Rozgar Sahayaks withdrew their decision to go on a strike.

Chouhan held a discussion with a joint delegation of Madhya Pradesh Sarpanch Sangathan, Madhya Pradesh Gram Rozgar Sahayak, Panchayat Karmachari Sangh and Azad Panchayat Karmachari Sangh. The delegation apprised the Chief Minister with the problems being faced by panchayats. On approval of houses to ineligible people under Prime Ministers Rural Housing Scheme, the Chief Minister said that the eligibility of actually poor beneficiaries will be examined. Those found eligible under the poor category will be assisted with different government schemes.

During the discussion, talking about the withdrawal of more that Rs 25,000 in panchayats, Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Radheshyam Julaniya made it clear that there is no prohibition on withdrawal of funds. He informed that an online system was being introduced to facilitate panchayats. The testing process of this online system going on for the last two days is now complete. Giving details about the benefits of the online system Julaniya said that this system will make the work of the panchayats easier. The Panchayats will be able to work more competently. He removed the confusions related to Mukhya Mantri Khet Sadak Yojana, evaluation of MNREGA works, Kapildhara Yojana, Panch Parmeshwar Yojana etc.

Following assurance by the Chief Minister, all the associations declared to withdraw their decision to go on a strike. If any Panchayat Sachiv does not return to his workplace after the announcement of strike withdrawal, his charge will be given to Rozgar Sahayak so that the work of the panchayats does not suffer. The bank withdrawal rights of Rozgar Sahayaks will be the same as Sachivs. Sarpanch Sangathan said that if any Sarpanch continues on strike despite withdrawal of strike, the government will take necessary action against him and the Sangathan will have no objection to it.

Madhya Pradesh Sarpanch Sangathan State President Nirbhay Singh Yadav and all the 51 District Presidents, Gram Rozgar Sahayak Panchayat Karmachari Sangh State President Roshan Singh Parmar, Azad Panchayat Sachiv Karmachari Sangh State President Hakim Singh Yadav and other office-bearers besides Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashok Vernawal were present during the discussion.
