Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh will spend Rs 75,000 crore on the strategic development of cities in coming three years so that big and small cities are developed simultaneously. Informing this to UKs prospective investors in smart city projects and smart city development experts at London today, the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan sought UKs cooperation in development of smart cities in Madhya Pradesh. Minister for Industries Rajendra Shukla was also present. Addressing a group of investors and experts, Chouhan said that the pace of urban development will get momentum in the state with the support of UKs smart city management expertise and modern technology. He said that the state government intends to develop Madhya Pradesh taking help of UKs expertise.

Referring to UK-India age-old relations, Chouhan said that the relationship should become stronger. Both should cooperate each other in terms of investment and development. He said that Madhya Pradesh has several unique projects apart from smart city projects. In order to utilize Narmada rivers water volume it has been linked to Kshipra river for its revival. Several infrastructure projects like construction of metro rail project, flyovers and highways are underway.

The Chief Minister urged the investors that they will not face any obstacle in the State and would be welcomed as friends. Chouhan met the Deputy Mayor of London, Rajesh Agarwal and representatives of different companies and invited them to Global Investors Summit at Indore.

Secretary to CM Vivek Agrawal elaborated the concept of smart city project and briefed the investors group about actions plans of Madhya Pradesh. Earlier, the Chief Minister and the delegation members were given a warm welcome on arrival in London by the top officials of the Indian Embassy.
