Bhopal: Commissioner Archeology Anupam Rajan inaugurated exhibition of rare archives and photographs focusing ‘Freedom Movement 1857-1947’ at State Archeology Museum situated at Shamla Hills Bhopal today. The exhibition is being organized to apprise common people, students and research scholars with the activities in Madhya Pradesh concerning freedom movement. Entry is free in this exhibition being organized from August 17 to 24. Exhibition is open for all from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Rajan Informed that various historical rare archives and photographs of Gwalior, Jabalpur, Raipur, Rewa, Indore, and Bhopal related to freedom movement have been displayed in the exhibition. Significant contribution of Tatya Tope, Nana Saheb, Raja Mardan Singh, Adil and Fazil Mohammad Khan of Ambapani, Mughal Ruler Bahadur Shah Zafar and Narayan Singh, a Landlord of Sona Khan in the first freedom struggle of 1857 has been displayed in the exhibition. A strong reaction was surfaced after the passing of Rowlatt Act and Jallianwala Bagh in the freedom movement in 20th century. Incidents of Non-Cooperation Movement (1920), Civil Disobedience Movement (1930) and Quit India Movement (1942) have been displayed in the interesting and simple manner through archives and photographs.
Addressing the school and college students present in large number in the inauguration ceremony, Rajan told the students that it is an effort to apprise them with the incidents of freedom movement, sacrifices of Great Heroes and Martyrs of the freedom movement. Also ‘Uttar Khojo’ competition based on archives and photographs is being organized during the exhibition.
