Bhopal: Quality in school education has always in the top priority of the State government. For this special efforts have been undertaken during the last 11 years in the state. The State government claimed that School Chale Hum campaign is being conducted every year in order to ensure admission of every child in the school. Campaign has been given the wide form of movement. Cooperation of public representatives, social activists, media organisations and people under the leadership of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were connected to the campaign. Almost 75 thousand motivators were linked to the campaign to encourage people. The effectiveness of the campaign has impacted school Drop Out rate tremendously.

School dropout rate at primary level was 21.4 per cent in the year 2005 which has come down to 6.1 percent in the year 2015-16. Also decrease has been registered in the school dropout rate at middle level. The school dropout rate was 21.5 per cent in the year 2005 which has come down to 9.5 per cent in the year 2015-16.

As per the fixed guidelines, school facility has been ensured in all the settlements of the state. Notification has been issued for primary and middle schools under the Right to Education Act. Besides, 17,851 primary schools have been upgraded to middle schools under the Sarva-Shiksha Campaign. Also 53,553 post of teachers have been sanctioned for this. There were 18,801 middle schools in the year 2003 which has now gone up to 30,341 in the year 2016.

Under the Sarva-Shiksha campaign the 27,910 satellite schools have been upgraded to primary schools and for this 55,820 posts of teachers have been approved. There were 55,980 primary schools in the state in the year 2003 which has grown to 83,890 in the year 2016.

Furthermore, under the Sarva-shiksha campaign, construction work of 1.26 lakh additional rooms, 26,992 primary schools buildings, 12,460 head master rooms and 18,644 drinking water facilities have been undertaken. Free books have been provided for class 1 to 12 students of all the government schools under the Free course books scheme of the school education department. Almost 11 crore students were provided with free books during last 11 years. Moreover basic teachers training was imparted to the teachers teaching class 1 and 2 in order to bring quality in the education. Beside this 3,052 schools were linked to the Head Start programme related to computer literacy. Also smart class arrangements were made in 1455 middle schools under the technical guidance of Information and Technology Department.
