Bhopal: Pulse Polio drive will be run in one phase from April 7 to 9 in the state. During the campaign this year, 1.13 crore children will be administered polio drops (do boond zindagi) for which 45,431 booths will be set up in the state.  As many as 90,861 teams and 9,086 supervisors beside mobile teams for high risk and far-flung areas and transit booths will be set up in fair sites, haat-bazaar, airpost, railway station, bus stand and government hospitals.

To make the campaign a success, best performance will be ensured in all the districts to ensure minimum 80 per cent pulse polio booth coverage. For this, the ASHA workers will visit houses and prepare a list of infants in the 0-5 age group and will bring them to the polio booth set up in the nearby anganwadi on April 7 to administer the polio dose.

Commissioner, Health said that with polio cases being identified in neighbouring Pakistan and Afghanistan even today, India is also at risk. He said that keeping this in mind, it is our joint responsibility to increase the community’s immunity by protecting children and everyone should fulfill this responsibility honestly. The Chief Medical and Health Officers were directed to create a situation of zero error and zero tolerance this year for the success of the campaign. The responsibilities of all sections should be fixed. Before the campaign, the

redressal of all possible grievances should be ensured under the chairmanship of the District Collector.

During the meeting of the state-level Task Force, instructions were given to take out prabhat pheris and public awareness rallies on April 5 and 6 before the campaign from 8 am to 5 pm in all anganwadis and schools to make the ‘Polio Sunday’ successful on April 7 in villages/ wards. To make the booth recognizable, a yellow banner and a poster should be placed by the leader of the booth team. The District Vaccination Officer should prepare such a work plan of the Pulse Polio campaign that not a single area or child is deprived of the polio drops.
