Bhopal: All private ITIs and polytechnic colleges in the state will be inspected. This was directed by Higher and Technical Education Minister Umashankar Gupta during review of departmental schemes here on Thursday. Gupta said that trades of textile and sewing should be introduced in ITI of Budhni and Nasrullaganj. The meeting also discussed to conduct psychometric test of class X and XI students to learn their interest and promote artisan making wooden toys. Gupta directed to rationalize subjects in polytechnic colleges.
Gupta directed to construct fully equipped exam halls for online exams in all districts. The halls must have metal detector, biometric machine, CCTV camera and locker facilities.
The Minister said that proposals for postings in colleges should be chalked out on the basis of working ratio. He said that all new colleges must appoint professors at the earliest. Gupta said that section-wise list of pending files should be prepared. He said that graduation first semester classes of Benazir College, Bhopal will be conducted at Kolar from next session.
Principal Secretary Higher Education Ashish Upadhyay, Principal Secretary Technical Education Kalpana Shrivastava, Additional Secretaries DD Agrawal and Sunil Gupta and Director Technical Education Ashish Dongare were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the State government has established Project Management Units in 6 districts for implantation of Vision-2018 and effective monitoring of new and existing projects of various departments, policy fixation and establishment of institutional system for project management. Science and Technology Department’s undertaking MAP-IT has recruited skilled human resources (Project Management Consultants) in 10 departments/clusters of departments in these districts.
These 6 districts are Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain and Singrauli. Similarly, the 10 departments/clusters of departments include Urban Development and Environment, PHE, PWD, Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Culture & Tourism, Finance and Planning, Economics and Statistics, Water Resources and Narmada Valley Development, Commerce and Industries, SC and ST Welfare and Backward Classes & Minorities Welfare departments.
For continuous documentation of evaluation, result-orientation and review of utility etc., Project Management Units in these districts and departments have been placed under administrative control of Planning, Economics and Statistics Department.
