Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that water will be provided to each house of the state through Nal-Jal (Pipeline). Roadmap must be prepared for this. He directed the officials to initiate action making time table. Chouhan was reviewing the Public Health Engineering department at Mantralaya on Thursday. Minister for Public Helath Engineering Kusum Mehdele and Chief Secretary BP Singh were present in the meeting. Chouhan mentioned that works should be completed within time limit. Transparency and quality must be maintained in the working process. He directed the officials to undertake tender works making time table under the surface water supply schemes. Keeping in view the ensuing summer season, he emphasised need on advance arrangements for supply of potable water.
Chouhan further said that survey regarding potable water difficulties and water sources should be conducted. He directed to review the potable water projects in floride affected areas. Besides, Chouhan congratulated the department to become first in redressing the grievances received on CM helpline.
It is informed in the meeting that an action plan has been prepared to solve the potable water problems for less rain affected areas. Solar schemes of tap water (Nal Jal) will be implemented in areas situated at heights and hilly regions. Availability of spare parts and riser pipes have been ensured, special mobile team to maintain hand pumps and a grievances redressal cell has been formed. New 8 thousand hand pumps will be installed from April to June months in the current year.
An amount of Rs 1200 crore will be spent on rural potable water programme. Moreover, ongoing 20 group water schemes will be completed by March 2018. Six schemes worth Rs 1,211 crore and nine schemes costing Rs 4,512 crore with financial assistance of NABARD and NDB respectively are proposed to be implemented.
