Bhopal: Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar has said that the beneficiaries who are taking ration at fair price through public distribution system should be physically verified and the names of ineligible persons should be deleted. For this, a special campaign will be launched in the state from September 5 to October 29, 2019.

Tomar said that under the National Food Security Act 2013, familes of 25 categories are given ration after verification on the portal of the Integrated Social Security Mission. On receipt of complaints about the names of ineligible beneficiaries in the list, the department has decided to conduct a special campaign for verification of eligible / ineligible beneficiaries in the state.

Tomar said that in each district, the Collector will form a field staff team of Agriculture, Women-Child Development, Panchayat and Rural Development, Revenue, Horticulture, Labour, Mandi, Urban Administration and Tribal Welfare Departments. The teams comprising two members each will go from door-to-door for verification of 200 families. The team will comprise of one employee from the Panchayat in rural areas and one from the municipality in urban areas necessarily.

The verification work will be constantly monitored at the district and state level. For this, a control room has been set up at the state level, with telephone number 0755-2551413. After the selection of eligible and ineligible beneficiaries, their list will be made available on the department’s website www.food.mp.gov.in and nfsa.samagra.gov.in. The list of the ineligible families will be presented at the meeting of the Janpad Panchayat / Urban Body for review of the members.
