Bhopal: The state government has issued detailed guidelines to protect consumers from the infection of Novel Corona virus at ration shops of public distribution system. Use of masks and sanitizers has been made mandatory for the ration seller. The Director Food-Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Avinash Lavania has asked the vendors of ration shops to open shops regularly and distribute ration to the eligible families regularly.
Consumers must not be allowed to throng the shop and should stay at the required distance from each other. While distributing the ration, a minimum distance of 3 meters should be kept between the beneficiaries. Arrangements should be made so that as far as possible, old and sick consumers do not have to come to the shop to get ration. If such beneficiaries still come to the shop, their line should be set up separately and ration distribution should be done to them on priority basis.
Ration shopkeepers have been asked to clean the machine scanner with sanitizer after distribution of ration to each consumer based on biometric verification. For this, sufficient amount of sanitizer should be kept at the shop. Facility to get ration in the coming month also should be provided to the consumers who have difficulty in biometric verification. Instructions have been issued that vendors and helpers at every PDS shop must use masks while distributing ration and also clean their hands frequently with sanitizer.
