Bhopal: National Tiger Estimation will be conducted in four phases from February 5 to March 26, 2018 in the state. Along with the forest workers, Indian Citizens over 18 years of age can also take part in the estimation. Applicants can send their applications by e-mail to the Field Directors of the concerned Tiger Reserves, Directors of National Parks, Regional Wildlife Circles, Divisional Managers of State Forest Development Corporation-Boards and Forest Division Officers. Applications have been invited from the local citizens, teachers, college students and people who take interest in wildlife estimation with an objective to ensure participation in wildlife management subjects, to enhance the quality of the collected statistics and to bring transparency.

The volunteers in the first 3 days of each phase can take part in the process like estimation of marks of carnivorous animals. If the volunteer is experienced in this kind of work or if make request to carry the work for 7days, then the management can allow the volunteer to participate in the estimation work on the basis of local requirements and specialty of the particular region.

It is mandatory for the applicant to be capable of living in the adverse conditions of forest areas, to walk 10 km per day in the unapproachable areas besides physically and mentally fit.

Directives issued by the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Alok Kumar to all the Nodal Officers specify that NCC cadets, members of NSS, college students, teachers, engineers, media personnel, government employees, people who take interest in wildlife subjects and people of other states of the country who are aware of the wildlife subjects can take part in the National Tiger Estimation Work of Madhya Pradesh.

Training can be imparted to the volunteers along with the training of local team or in the college campus, if they constitute a group of 20 members or above.
