Bhopal: Date of Namami Devi Narmade Narmada Seva Yatra has been extended to December 11 in place of November 11. The yatra will begin from Amarkantak on December 11 will return from Sondwa of Alirajpur and culminate at Amarkantak on April 7, 2017. This 118 days journey will cover 1827 kilometer southern bank and 1103 kilometer northern bank of Narmada river. Moreover, this yatra will pass through 282 villages/towns on southern bank and 275 villages/towns on northern bank. Madhya Pradesh Life line river Narmada holds mythological, spiritual, social and economic importance. Efforts are being made by the state government to save Narmada river. The Narmada seva yatra is being organized to ensure societys participation to save Narmada river.

Treatment plant will be installed to stop and treat drainage water beside plantation and villages and cities will be made free of open defecation situated at the banks of the Narmada river. Free online registration process is being conducted to take part in the yatra. Detail information is available on www.namamidevinarmade.mp.gov.in.

Control room has been made for yatra at Madhya Pradesh Jan-Abhiyan Parishad, Bhopal. Core group consisting maximum 50 members is being formed at every district. Members of the core group can stay in yatra for two days and two nights. Members will be replaced on third day except officers of the concerned district and department. Subject Experts, Representatives of various departments, local Sants, Religious Heads and Representatives of Social organisations will be a part of the group. Citizens of villages/towns can participate in passing by yatra without earlier registration.
