Bhopal: The Namaste Orchha Mahotsav being organized in Madhya Pradesh’s famous tourist site Orchha from March 6 to 8 will be a unique experience for tourists. The state government is setting the direction of future tourism in the state through this Mahotsav. It will focus on new employment opportunities in the eco-tourism sector. The ancient stories related to the historical site Orchha will attract tourists during this Mahotsav once again.
Namaste Orchha Mahotsav will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Kamal Nath on March 6. Information about the history and festival of Orchha will be rendered in famous actor Manoj Bajpayi’s voice at the inauguration ceremony to be held in Sheesh Mahal. Contemporary dance will be performed at the ceremony by the “Sadya” institution. Their dance performances will combine traditional and modern dance forms.
This will be followed by a musical performance by noted musician Clinton Cejero. His song ‘Madari’ has 4 million hits on YouTube. Famous Hindi film singer Shilpa Rao will also perform along with musician Clinton. Local artists from Bundelkhand and Madhya Pradesh will also perform along with Clinton. Along with this, Santoor player Shruti Adhikari of Bhopal will also give her performance. Famous folk singer Prahlad Tipanya will also give a jugalandi performance with Clinton. Finally there will be a performance of the music group Indian Ocean, which will also feature the Maa Reva song. The event will be conducted by actress Mini Mathur and film lyricist Swanand Kirkare.
On the second day of the festival on March 7, a Business Conclave will be organized at Orchha Fort and Convention Centre. Employment growth in tourism, hospitality, craft, media and entertainment sector will be considered through the conclave. Primary session “Forest-MP” Madhya Pradesh will be addressed by Chief Secretary SR Mohanty. He will inform about the compatibility of Madhya Pradesh in tourism activities. The participants in the conclave will discuss sessions in “Yes Orchha”, “Dil Se Orchha”, “Indigenous Madhya Pradesh” and “Zimmedar Madhya Pradesh”. These sessions will focus on making Orchha a film and wedding destination, expansion of hospitality activities and expansion of craft for tourists and tourism in Madhya Pradesh.
A cultural evening will be held on the banks of the Betwa River in the evening on the same day. The cultural evening will feature a famous classical singer, Shubha Mudgal. Also, famous singer in Indian classical music, Shubhanjali will also perform. This will be followed by the performance of famous Kathak dancer, Aditi Mangaldas. Music group “Sadya” will also perform. The event will be conducted by noted actress Swara Bhaskar.
