Bhopal: April 3, 2016 is going to be a red-letter day in history of wildlife. On this day, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of Steel and Mines Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Minister of State for Forests, Environment and Climate Change (Independent charge) Prakash Javadekar will dedicate world’s first White Tiger Safari at Mukundpur in Satna district. With this, Vindhya will regain its pride of place in the chapter of wildlife. Forest Minister Gaurishankar Shejwar, Public Relations, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Rajendra Shukla, Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Rajendra Kumar Singh, MPs Ganesh Singh, Janardan Mishra, Riti Pathak and other public representatives will also be present on the occasion.
It would be a memorable moment for Vindhya region since white tiger was introduced by it to the world. Unfortunately, progeny of white tiger remained non-existent in Vindhya region for a long time. It is due to hard work and committed efforts of Public Relations and Energy Minister Rajendra Shukla that white tigers are roaring in their original habitat once again after a gap of 40 years. Entire world is thrilled and mesmerized by white tigers. A number of research works have been done on them. White tigers found all over the world are progeny of Vindhya region’s white tiger ‘Mohan’. This wonder of nature was caught by the then Maharaja of Rewa Martand Singh in year 1951 and named ‘Mohan’.
