Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has worked remarkably well by implementing wide public welfare schemes of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. State has leading position in some schemes and has achieved ranking amongst the top 10 states in the country. Madhya Pradesh has bagged Performance Award recently for better execution of Amrit Yojna. This information was given by the Minister for Urban Development and Housing Maya Singh. Swachcha Bharat Mission which is one of the ambitious scheme of the Prime Minister, Madhya Pradesh is the first state for sanctioning complete personal toilets. State is on third position for uploading information along with photographs for works completed. It may be mentioned that 7.31 lakh toilets have to be constructed till 2019 under the mission in the state. Sanction has been received for 4.60 lakh toilets of which 2.50 lakh toilets have been constructed so far. Target has been set up to announce urban bodies ODF free till December 2016.
As regard to solid waste Management, an action plan in including 26 groups has been prepared for collection of waste from homes and its disposal in 378 urban bodies. Work on the basis of PPP mode has been started in three groups of 25 urban bodies. Under this, electricity generation in one group and production of bio-fertiliser will be undertaken in the other group. Beside this works will be initiated in 23 groups from March 2016-17. Under this electricity generation in 4 groups and bio-fertiliser production in 19 groups will take place.
Under this ambitious scheme, infrastructure development works will be carried out in 34 cities having more than one lakh population. An all round scheme worth over Rs 8,279 crore has been sanctioned by the Union Government in the year 2015. Madhya Pradesh has achieved first position in the country for sanctioning and organizing works under this scheme.
Total 31 schemes worth Rs 2243.30 crore are sanctioned in the first phase of the plan and works on 20 schemes costing 1435.82 crore have been initiated. Tender process has initiated in 11 schemes costing Rs 1425.15 crore. Under the First component of the plan which is water augmentation, there are 17 schemes worth Rs 818 crore. Works related to 14 schemes costing Rs 560.24 crore have been started. Moreover, 13 schemes worth Rs 1421.88 crore are included in the second component sewage management. Under this, works have been started in 6 schemes worth Rs 875 crore 58 thousand. Madhya Pradesh was conferred with Incentive Grant Award of Rs 33.45 crore under this scheme. Minister for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Maya Singh received the award from the Union Minister for Urban Development Venkiah Naidu on September 30 at New Delhi.
An aspiring scheme Pradhamantri Awas yojana to provide houses to all has been begun in the year 2015. Target has been set to build 5 lakh houses in the urban areas of the state.
