Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that better atmosphere besides industry friendly policy and infrastructure is available in the state. Madhya Pradesh is the ideal state for capital investment. Deputy British High Commissioner Kumar Iyer met Chief Minister Chouhan at Mantralaya on Tuesday. Country Head of DFID Marshall Elliott was present in the meeting. Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is the fast developing state in the country. Global Investors Summit is being organized in the month of October for Make in Madhya Pradesh Programme. England through DFID is engaged in various activities in the state since long. Focus on Smart cities and skill development will be main objective of his England tour to attract investment.

Seven cities have been selected for the smart city project. Other cities will also be transformed into smart cities. A sum of Rs. 75 thousand crore will be spent on urban development in the next three years. Moreover, Rs 18,000 crore will be spent on potable group water schemes in the rural areas. Chouhan further mentioned that he wishes that more and more investors from England should participate in the global investors summit. Investors Summit will be organized in London with cooperation of UK Investors Business Council. Emphasis has been laid to create more employment besides investment in the state, he added.

Deputy British High Commissioner Iyer has informed that England will be the partner country in the Global Investors Summit. England is cooperating for three smart cities in the country including Indore. Besides smart cities cooperation can be given in water treatment and renewable energy sectors. Ten percent of the total foreign capital investment of England is invested in India. Industrial companies of England have their presence in various sectors in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Delhi. These companies can come to the Madhya Pradesh. Principal Secretary Commerce and Industry Mohammed Suleman, Principal Secretary to CM SK Mishra and Secretary Vivek Agarwal were present on the occasion.
