Bhopal: National Awards in three categories of Poshan Abhiyan 2018-19 have been given for outstanding activities to Madhya Pradesh by the Union Ministry for Women and Child Development in New Delhi on Friday. The Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani presented the awards to the state’s Principal Secretary of Women and Child Development Anupam Rajan.

Madhya Pradesh has topped in the country in two categories of the Poshan Abhiyan and achieved second place in one other category of the Abhiyan. Under the Poshan Abhiyan, the state has received first prize of Rs one crore each for implementing ICDS Common Application Software with excellence and for Constant Efficiency Development Convergence Community based Activities for excellent performance at state level.

Similarly, the state has got a second prize of Rs 75 lakh for excellence in all round works. It may be highlighted that data is sent by 27,817 aaganbadi workers to the server of Government of India by mobile phones directly through ICT RTM system under operational in 16 districts of the state. Online digital monitoring is done by this system.

The Union Secretary for Women and Child Development Ravindra Pawar, Additional Secretary Ajay Tirki, Joint Secretary Sajjan Singh Yadav and Commissioner Women and Child Development of the state MB Ojha were present on the occasion.

Under the Poshan Abhiyan, the Government of India has awarded Badwani as the Best district and Bahoriband of Katni district as the Best Block. The aaganbadi workers, sahayika, ANM, ASHA and supervisor each of 10 local centers of Katni and Vidisha districts have been honoured with cash reward of Rs 50,000 each.

Work on five components has been done in the state under the Abhiyan. These components are ICDS Common Application Software, Incremental Learning Approach, Community based Activities, Convergence Action Plan and Public Movement.
