Bhopal: Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra performed bhoomi pujan of the 33/11 power station of Gram Jyoti Yojana installed at a cost of Rs 33.32 crore near New Collector Bhavan in Datia district. With the installation of the power station, the far flung villages in the district too will now have electricity supply with maximum voltage. Under the Deendayal Gram Jyoti Yojana, one substation, 16 feeders and 150 habitats will be electrified.
The Minister said that electricity supply should be as per need for domestic use and farming etc. Government has resolved to provide 10-hour electricity supply for the fields and 24-hour supply for domestic use. With this in mind, feeder suppression work is being undertaken. He said that Medical College, Collectorate, Power Station, Fruit and Sabji Mandi will be established in Datia. He issued instructions to install a good quality handpump in place of a power sub-station and to complete the work in the prescribed time limit.
Meanwhile, the Minister has taken the resolve to make Datia city a big Datia. He has ensures all round development of Datia city. Now Datia has spread from Chirula up to Richari. Mishra has laid the foundation of a fruit and vegetable market adjacent to the New Collectorate Bhavan near National Highway Richari to free the fruit and vegetable vendors from the crowded areas so as to facilitate them. The Mandi construction will incur a cost of Rs 2.58 crore.
