Bhopal: Minister for Tourism Surendra Singh Baghel presented awards for outstanding activities announced for different categories in tourism sector during a function held at the convention centre (Minto Hall). Baghel said that the constant efforts are being made by the state government to enhance investment and employment opportunities in tourism sector. Implementation on every promise of the state government’s manifesto is being ensured, he added.

Besides, Baghel mentioned that facilities are being reviewed for the tourism policy and investment and amendments will also be made as per the need. He informed that there is a plan to organize events at the water bodies of the state. Describing the digitalization as the need of the time, Baghel stated that Madhya Pradesh represents tourism at global level and keeping this in view, the tourist focused planning is being made.

Principal Secretary, Tourism Hariranjan Rao informed that this is the third phase of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Awards. Madhya Pradesh is working on the theme of ‘High Value, Low Impact’ to avoid negative impact on the environment. He further mentioned that the tourism touches every aspect of life. It is essential to work with the participation of the private sector for making films, citizens and organizations, he added.

On this occasion, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Award-2018 Magazine was released and films focusing Adventure Next were showcased. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Additional Managing Director of the Tourism Board Bhavna Valimbe.
