Bhopal: Minister for Urban Development and Housing Maya Singh said that compromise will not be tolerated in quality and time limit in implementation of urban development works. Stringent action will be taken against officers for apathy. Singh was reviewing the urban development works at Dewas on Monday. Mayor Subhash Sharma was present in the meeting. Singh said that several schemes are implemented by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for development of urban areas beside beautification.

Their intention is to provide all the basic facilities in all the cities and to provide better environment to the citizens. She further said that all the urban bodies should work with their full potency. Pay special attention to sanitation. Accelerate toilet construction works and make urban bodies ODF free. Smt. Singh mentioned that cleanliness of public toilets should be improved and undertaken constantly. She urged the public representatives to keep vigil on this work.

Minister Maya Singh also inspected houses constructed under the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana. Moreover, an amount of Rs 58.37 crore has been sanctioned for water supply scheme of Dewas city. Also, a sum of Rs 37.71 crore has been given for the second phase of potable water scheme. Beside this, an amount of Rs 140.62 crore towards sewage works and Rs 18 crore for Mukhyamantri urban infrastructure development schemes have been given.
