Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Matikala Board is organizing Mati ki Mehak exhibition-cum-sale and state level prize distribution ceremony at Gauhar Mahal on September 26. The ceremony will be inaugurated by Cottage and Gramodyog Minister Antar Singh Arya at 7 pm. Mansingh Bhondia, Dewas will give a Kabir Gayan performance at the ceremony. At least 50 sculptors from various districts of the state along with traditional clay products from the state and the country besides terracotta, glazed pottery, ceramic, blue pottery, Molela tiles etc will take part in the exhibition.

At the exhibition, the clay sculptors will have a direct dialogue with the customers which will enable them to obtain information about the demand and interest of the customers. The sculptors will be able to make changes in their products as per the demand of the customers and establish themselves in the open market.

Under this scheme, 46 clay entrepreneurs were given training in terracotta at Bhau Saheb Bhuskute Smriti Lok Nyas, Govindnagar in Hoshangabad district and 8 entrepreneurs were trained in blue pottery construction at Jaipur, Rajasthan last year. The Board honours 3 best sculptors of the state every year with Rs 1 lakh as first prize, Rs 50 thousand as second prize and Rs 25,000 as third prize.

The Matikala Board is providing margin money to the states clay entrepreneurs to start clay related enterprise under the Mukhya Mantri Swarozgar Arthik Kalyan Yojana. In addition to this, free training of Matikala is being given through shilp gurus honoured with national and state level awards under Matikala Prachar-Prasar Yojana, Skill enhancement programmes etc.
