Bhopal: Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision would not be fulfilled until and unless the MSME industries are developed. Inaugurating the two-day MSME convention here, Mishra said the jobs to be provided to the youths through the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme and a thrust would be given to the traditional industries such as cottage industries.

Mishra, who also laid the foundation stone of a Technology Centre near here through a remote control along with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, said that 15 such centers were set up in the country at a cost of Rs 2,200 crore with the aid the World Bank while terminological centers would also be set up at a cost of 125 cr. Lauding for the Madhya Pradesh regime for constituting a separate ministry for MSME, the Minister said the Centre would provide all sorts of help to the state to help becoming arole model in the field of MSME.

Mishra informed the ST-SC hub for technology would be set up in the 31districts in the state at a cost of Rs 500 cr and they would be brought under the Prime Minister’s Start-up India scheme. Besides, the traditional industries in the state were being given a boost through the introduction of ‘Sfurti’ scheme and cluster development programes were also introduced in Jabalpur, Dewas and Katni districts in the state. Informing that the Madhya Pradesh has potential for setting up agro-based processing units, the Minister said that for this, the Centre decided to release funds to the state soon.

Speaking of the occasion, Chouhan said the government was aiming to set up five lakh small industries in the state within a period of one year. Within a span of two years, Madhya Pradesh will become the hub of MSME industries. We want to change the image of the state and hope the industrialists such as Tata and Ambani should come up from our state,” Chouhan said. Chouhan said that the MSME would be set up in the state along with the major industries as the more job opportunities would be created through small industries.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for MSME (Independent Charge) Sanjay Pathak said that all facilities to be provided to the MSME industrialists in the state and a separate ministry was formed for this purpose. Union ministers of State for MSME Giriraj Singh and Hari Bhai Chaudhary also spoke on the occasion. An Exhibition on MSME was also the attraction of the convention in which the state’s products were being showcased.
