Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath has directed to construct the Bhopal-Indore Expressway as World Class level Corridor of PPP Model. After watching the presentation of the proposed model of Bhopal-Indore Expressway at Mantralaya on Wednesday, Nath said that it should such an expressway of the state, which may become a major centre for enhancing economic activities and employment.

Nath asked to expedite the process of land acquisition for the Bhopal-Indore expressway. He further mentioned that satellite township should be developed on both the sides of the expressway, in which all the basic facilities will be made available for industries and to the common man. He also asked to construct there a logistic hub, recreation centers and dry-port.

Nath further said that the basic concept behind the construction of the expressway is to promote economic activities. This should also lead to economic development of Bhopal, Indore and its connected areas, he added.

He mentioned that the entire project has been prepared on PPP model. The agency of the state government should play a role in road construction, development of project site and land acquisition process.

Minister for Public Works Sajjan Singh Verma, Minister for Urban Development Jaivardhan Singh, Chief Secretary SR Mohanty, Additional Chief Secretaries AP Shrivastava, M Gopal Reddy, Malay Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Urban Development Sanjay Dubey, Managing Director of MPSID Vivek Porwal and concerned Senior Officers were present at the meeting.
