Bhopal: School Education Minister Paras Jain has said that mobile app (M-Shiksha Mitra) for school teachers’ e-attendance will be implemented more effectively. Jain was chairing a meeting of departmental advisory committee at Mantralaya here today. MLA Members of the committee Harsh Singh and Chandar Singh and ACS SR Mohanthy were also present on the occasion. Jain said that society and public representatives must come forward to ensure teachers’ attendance. Government would also make concrete arrangements at its level to ensure that teachers are present in schools. On members’ suggestions, Jain directed for physical verification of computers given to schools under Headstart Scheme.
He also directed to check handpumps in schools to ensure drinking water arrangements. Jain called for regular cleaning of toilets and ensuring drinking water arrangements in schools under ‘School Chalen Ham Abhiyan’. He urged public representatives to motivate maximum number of people for ‘Vidyalaya Uphar Yojana’ for students sports etc. The Minister directed that height of classrooms must be minimum 10 feet and colour of buildings pink as usual. He said that tours of DEOs and DPCs should be in accordance with roster.
Mohanthy informed that e-attendance scheme to ascertain teachers’ attendance in schools has been 97 per cent successful in Indore. He informed that amount for cleaning toilets will be given through Panchayats. Person deployed for it will be given Rs 1000 per month while Rs 500 will be paid for material. Mohanthy informed that government school grounds are not allotted for any other activity for about last two years. Members also put forth suggestions regarding electricity, drinking water, encroachments, sports grounds and boundary walls of schools.
