Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath has said that the loan waiver scheme of farmers is the beginning of a revolution in the field of improvement in the agricultural sector. The Chief Minister said that his dream is to see smiles on the faces of farmers in the coming time. Nath was addressing the Jai Kisan Crop Loan Waiver programme at Timarni in Harda district on Thursday. The Chief Minister laid the foundation and dedicated 13 construction works of more than Rs 42.90 crore in Timarni.
Nath said that with the loan waiver of the farmers, a revolution will start in the agriculture sector. Debt gets linked with farmer at the time of his birth and continues to be with him till his death. He said that loan waiver will improve the economy. He said that in the next five days, loan up to Rs 2 lakhs of 25 lakh farmers will be waived. He said that soon after taking charge, the government first of all signed on the file for loan waiver of 55 lakh farmers. He said that our biggest challenge is agriculture production. Farmers should get fair price for agriculture produce and there should be improvement in agriculture sector, this is our priority.
The Chief Minister said that unemployment also is a major challenge. Today’s youth want employment. If we do not provide them with jobs, their future will be in the dark. To remove unemployment in the state, investment will have to be invited. We will remove unemployment by establishing industries. When industries are established, economic activities will increase and the future of the state will also become secure.
Public Relations Minister and Minister in charge of Harda district PC Sharma said that the Chief Minister signed on the agriculture loan waiver paper for waiving of up to Rs 2 lakhs of 55 lakh farmers of the state within one hour of taking oath. This is historical in itself. The state government has fulfilled its target in waiving of agricultural loan. The Chief Minister has fulfilled its promise made to the public of the state. Electricity bills of eligible consumers have been reduced to half. The amount of Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah and Nikah Yojana has been hiked to Rs 51 thousand. The old age pension has been increased to Rs 600 from Rs 300. The Minister in charge told that the government has now taken the decision that the patwari and gram sevak will now visit the gram panchayats twice a week. He told that the Narmada Trust has been constituted to save the Narmada river. The government has sent about 5,000 persons from the state so far by train for Kumbh snana to Prayagraj. The Minister informed that the Moran and Ganjal Project will start very soon. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Kamleshwar Patel also addressed the programme.
