Bhopal: The residents in Bhopal witnessed an unusual incident at the residence of former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, where his bother Laxman Singh was staging a dharna on Tuesday. Laxman Singh, Congress MLA from Chachoda was accompanied by around 200 supporters at the dharna demanding an assurance from his ‘Bhaisaab’ for making Chachoda tehsil a district.
When the dharna commenced, Digvijay Singh was not at his residence. He had gone to attend a programme. On his return at around 1 pm, neither Singh reach his younger brother, nor Laxman approached him. After some time, Digvijay came out of the bungalow and left for another programme of Meena community.
Later, at the function of Meena community, the senior leader from the dais claimed that an MLA is sitting at dharna at his residence but it is not possible to fulfill the demand.
MLA Laxman Singh known for his rebellious tones, told media persons that Chief Minister Kamal Nath in July this year had announced to elevate Chachoda into a district and all he wants form his brother to visit Chachoda with CM and specify a date when the announcement would materialise.
When Niwari could be formed into a district with two tehsils, why Chachoda cannot get the same status even with three tehsils, Singh added.
Laxman Singh’s resentment from his brother was evident with his remarks when he said that Chachoda has given everything to Digvijay Singh but he is so busy that he did not even visit the town in last eight years.
