Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath has asked the police officials to keep pace with information technology and latest investigation technologies for better results. He said that the technology is constantly changing therefore it is urgent to remain updated. It should be used to ensure justice and protect the deprived sections. He was addressing the concluding session of a seminar on ‘Sensitiveness towards SC and STs’ organized by the special branch for the Welfare of Scheduled Caste and Tribe to sensitive the police officials towards their rights and entitlements at Minto Hall here on Thursday.

Responding to the demand of police officers, the Chief Minister said that in the cases regarding atrocity against scheduled castes and tribes, instructions will be given to ensure that the relief amount reaches through concerning police officials instead of Revenue Department. He said that the police should have a sympathetic and sensitive face.

The Chief Minister said that every law has its specific purpose. It should be used for the benefit of disadvantaged sections as they need it the most.

The Chief Minister said that the advance facilities, the police department are having were not available ten years ago. The facilities become obsolete with advancing time. Therefore, the latest available information technology and research techniques must be used optimally in favour of the poor sections. Existing legal framework should be efficiently used. He said that the Police Department must maintain pace with the change.

The Chief Minister said that every section needs help of the police. Every citizen knows the face of the police, which is barometer of the administration and the functioning of the government. He said that the police must work like a social department in which every citizen feels a sense of security.

The Chief Minister said that fulfillment is greater than achievement. Achievements are mentionable but fulfillment is realised by heart and mind. It is upto the police officials how they want to judge themselves. The Chief Minister gave away mementos and certificates to the participants of the Seminar and felicitated the best participants.

Director General of Police VK Singh informed about the objectives of the seminar. He said that the Police Department has biggest opportunity to serve the disadvantaged sections. Additional Director General of Police Pragya Richa Shrivastav gave the details of the seminar.
