Bhopal: Israel’s Consul General David Akov met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Thursday. Chouhan said that Israel and Madhya Pradesh can collaborate in water recycling and water management sectors. Chouhan invited Akov to Global Investors Summit to be held at Indore in October. He said that 7 major cities in the state are being made Smart. Besides, small cities are also being developed as Mini Smart Cities. Israel can collaborate in the process. Israel and India are natural friends. Israel has done commendable work in agriculture, water management and defence production sectors. Madhya Pradesh is pioneer in agriculture growth rate in the country.
Consul General David said that his country is collaborating with various states of the country in water management, agriculture and rooftop solar energy sectors. Israel wishes to work in these sectors in Madhya Pradesh too. Principal Secretary to CM SK Mishra, Commissioner Industries VL Kanta Rao and MD of TRIFAC DP Ahuja were also present at the meeting.
Addl CS and Agriculture Production Commissioner PC Meena and Principal Secretary Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Rajesh Rajora were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the five-member delegation led by Israeli Consul General David Akov met Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Gaurishankar Bisen here on Thursday. Bisen said that Madhya Pradesh is keen to collaborate with Israel in agriculture sector.
Bisen said that the state government has chalked out a roadmap to double farmers’ income and work is progressing at a rapid pace in this regard. He desired for Israel’s cooperation in production of fruits and flowers. Besides, he also wished to hold discussion with Israel on collaboration in seed production, farm mechanization and post-harvest technology.
Consular General Akov said that his government wishes to collaborate with Madhya Pradesh with better coordination in farm sector. He informed about his country’s collaboration in agriculture sector with Maharashtra government.
