Bhopal: Integrated Tourism Development Project is going to be implemented in the state by Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation in collaboration with the World Bank. In the first phase, Orchha, Khajuraho, Panna, Bhopal, Sanchi and Bhim Bethka circuits have been covered under it. First of all, attention is being paid to World Heritage sites Khajuraho, Sanchi and Bhim Bethka under the project. This was informed by Secretary to CM and MD of State Tourism Development Corporation Hari Ranjan Rao at a workshop on Integrated Tourism Development Project in Madhya Pradesh here on Saturday.
Pooja, Deputy Secretary Tourism Bhavna Valimbe, Corporations Additional MD Tanvi Sunderiyal, district project officers, representatives and advisors of concerning agencies were present on the occasion. Rao said that there are immense possibilities of tourism in the state. Paryatan Se Rozgar Srijan is priority of the state government. Better functioning should be ensured to reach benefit of the project to maximum number of people. Rao hoped that conclusions of the workshop will help work speedily on the project.
Stephaniea of World Bank while referring to World Heritage site Khajuraho said that it is ancient world heritage. Arrangements are needed to ensure that tourist also feel Khajuraho while seeing it and spend extended time in Madhya Pradesh. Sharing her experiences of Uttar Pradesh, she threw light on feelings of tourists coming to see Taj Mahal at Agra. State Coordinator Vikram Menon said that tourism is the fastest growing sector in the world, which holds significant place in economy and employment. After presentation by Sanjay Saxena, participants took part in group discussions on different issues.
