Bhopal: Ikram Ali, the outstanding player of the Madhya Pradesh Athletics Academy has bagged a gold medal for the state in the 64th National School Games being organized from February 15 to 18 in Nadiad of Gujarat. He clinched the gold medal in the Discus Throw competition by throwing discus at a distance of 56.87 metre under-19 boys’ category. It is to be mentioned that Ikram Ali Khan is undergoing training under the Chief Coach SK Prasad and Anupama Shrivastava of the Athletics Academy.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Jeetu Patwari conducted surprise inspection of canteen of TT Nagar Stadium in the morning today. He went to the kitchen and inspected food items prepared for the players. Besides, Patwari enquired about the breakfast from the players. He was apprised by the players that they received maithi puri, potato vegetable, sprouted moong, boiled egg/ scrambled omelet, fruit salad (Papaya, watermelon, pineapple) and milk in the breakfast today. On enquiring about the quality of food items, the players have informed that they have been served good quality food. In order to check the quality, Patwari also tasted the food.

It is to be highlighted that the Sports Minister has conducted surprise inspection of the TT Nagar twice to know the reality of the sports facilities.
