Bhopal: The Handloom Development Commissioner of Government of India Sanjay Rastogi, while praising the MoU signed between the Sant Ravidas MP Handicraft and Handloom Development Corporation and Chhattisgarh State Handloom Development and Marketing Co Op Federation, has asked Handloom Commissioners of other states to initiate action in this direction too.
The Handloom Development Commissioner of India in a letter to all the handloom emporiums, corporations, federations and handloom producing agencies of the country, has stated that the MoU for handloom development between Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will help the two States to market their products better by encouraging production with mutual cooperation.
The Handloom Development Commissioner has described the MoU signed between the two states as praiseworthy. He stated that this kind of initiative should also be taken by the other states. He further mentioned that this initiative can be replicated by the Handloom agencies engaged in production and marketing of handloom products.
Working on similar lines, handloom producing agencies may also be encouraged to keep their handloom products in the showrooms/ outlets of handloom Emporiums/ Corporations/ Federation on mutually agreed terms and conditions by executing MOUs in this regard.
