Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while reviewing the condition of Rewa caused by heavy rains and flood said that the condition should be monitored continuously. In case of evacuation take the help from army. Chouhan was reviewing the flood situation of Rewa division in a meeting here on Friday. Minister for Commerce and Industries Rajendra Shukla was present in the meeting. Chouhan directed the officials to keep continuous vigil over the situation. Helicopter services should be taken to evacuate the people. All the necessary arrangement should be made to evacuate the stranded citizens. Relief teams should undertake work continuously and motor boat should be sent as situation demands. Control room should work round the clock and food and other arrangements must be ensured in the relief camps.

It may be mentioned here that Rewa division is witnessing heavy rains since last one week. As many as 3200 people were evacuated safely by the rescue teams. Almost people from 50 villages submerged under the water were evacuated. Twenty five teams of Disaster Management and Home Guards equipped with all the necessary equipments and motor boat are engaged in relief and rescue works. All the gates of Ban Sagar Dam have been opened. As many as six people have lost life during last few days due to the havoc created by the rains. Thirty Five relief camps have been set up in the flood affected areas and 20,000 people are camping in it.

Chief Secretary Antony DeSa, DGP Rishi Kumar Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary Water Resources RS Julaniya, Principal Secretary Revenue KK Singh, Special DGP Sarabjeet Singh and DG Home Guards Maithilisharan Gupt were present in the meeting.
