Ujjain: Governor OP Kohli said that Mahakavi Kalidas is a meticulous poet. Sanskrit literature would not have prospered in absence of Kalidas. He has illustrated incredibly about the natures beauty and mankind in his literary works. He was rich in culture and literature. Kohli was addressing the inaugural session of Kalidas Samaroh at Ujjain. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawarchand Gahlot, States Minister for Energy Paras Jain, MP Chintamani Malviya, MLA Mohan Yadav, Bahadur Singh Chouhan, Satish Malviya, Mayor Meena Jonwal were present on the occasion.

The Governor mentioned that Kalidas had always started dramas with Shiv Aradhana, He was a excellent poet and dramatist. Kalidas has illustrated human emotions and nature in his literary works. Kohli further mentioned that the German Poet Goethe was so much fascinated with the drama of Kalidas Abhigyan Shakuntalam that he described the work as greatest. Governor Kohli presented National Kalidas awards to Dramatists Raj Bisariya and Bansi Kaul for the year 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively. They were honoured with a reward of Rs. 2 lakh each beside Shawl-Shreephal and citation letter.

Significant achievement was attained by the dramatist Bisariya in the field of drama. He was honoured by the British Theatre Association and Associate Drama Board. Bansi Kaul has undertaken incomparable experiments through his imaginative ideas. He has conserved rare styles in his dramatic skills. Minister of State Surendra Patwa gave vote of thanks on the occasion.

Governor OP Kohli inaugurated the handloom and handicraft fair at Kalidas Academy Campus. He also inspected the stalls put up in the fair. Vice Chancellor Vikram University SS Pandey informed about the Kalidas Samaroh.
