Bhopal: Inaugurating the 7th four-day Science Fair here on Friday, Governor Anandiben Patel said that scientific perceptions and views have been well-expressed in Indian shastras. She said that Mahatma Gandhi was leading in his times as far as scientific thought was concerned. He stressed on Swadeshi Vigyan. Patel stressed on the need to use the progress in science and technology for successful and constant development. She said that the noteworthy activities being undertaken in the science sector should be taken to the common man. The Governor said that fairs have their own importance in Indian tradition. People get the opportunity to know each others views and know each other in fairs.

The science fair has also been organized mainly with the intention of apprising the common man with the inventions and developments in the field of science and technology at the regional, national and international level. She said that it has become essential to explore probable career possibilities in the area of science for the young generation.

National Organising Secretary of Vigyan Bharti Jayant Sahasrabuddhe said that through such events information of swadeshi scientific techniques and inventions can reach the common man easily. Principal Secretary Science and Technology Manu Shrivastava said that the main objective of the fair is to develop scientific line of thought in people in general and youth in particular. Director General of Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology Navin Chandra told that science fairs are being organized in different districts.

Patel felicitated Patron of Vigyan Bharti I Vasu with Rs one lakh, citation, shawl and shriphal. The Governor visited various stalls at the fair and inspected the exhibition.
